L&M Plastering completed a ceiling replacement in Walsall (Park Hall) where the customer wanted spot lights in their kitchen ceiling. The floor above was tiled so this made it a difficult access for the electrician to run the cables through. We applied dust sheets to protect the furniture, taped up and covered doors then removed the existing ceiling and the rubble that came with this. The exposed joists were prepped and all the old nails were removed also.
The enabled the electrician to complete a first fix. Following this, we re-bboarded the ceiling with 12.5mm plasterboard using 32mm dry wall screws and 5 screws per row of joist. The joints of the boards were taped up with scrim tape and the ceiling was then re-skimmed/plastered leaving a great, smooth finish ready for painting. The electrician was then able to complete the fitting of spot lights.
